Interlibrary loan
Need a book that isn't in our library?
Start by checking for it in the Monmouth County Library. If MCL has a
book in its system, you can request it and it will be delivered to a branch near you.
Go to their website and search their catalog. If you find the book you want, you
can place a hold on it and specify where you want to pick it up. You will be prompted
to log in using your library card number in order to place the hold. The library will notify
you when your book is ready to pick up, usually in 2-3 days.

If MCL doesn't have the book that you need, you may still be able to find it through Interlibrary Loan. The NJ State Library catalog, called JerseyCat, accesses libraries thoughout the state. If you find your book in that catalog, you can ask a reference librarian at Monmouth County Library to order it for you through Interlibrary Loan. You can then pick it up at a local MCL branch. Be aware that it may take up to 2 weeks for the book to be delivered, and you may be restricted in how many times you can renew it. Click on the graphic below to access the JerseyCat catalog.
